Highbury Homes (Yorkshire) Ltd has come a long way since our humble beginnings as a family-run company of home builders from West Yorkshire led by the Thorpe family.
Today Highbury are award-winning refurbishment and building maintenance specialists, offering the complete building solution to deliver high-quality project management and efficient in-house building services to many sectors including the Insurance, Social Housing, Residential, Commercial and Education sectors. As an experienced building company, we now have the capacity and support of our clients to cover areas as widespread as York, Sheffield, Manchester and West Yorkshire through our two operating offices.

Although the company has expanded from its origins as West Yorkshire home builders, traditional values are important to us and there is still a sense of a friendly, family-run business that looks after both its colleagues and customers. What We Do
A highly respected building company working in all sectors of the market, Highbury have built a strong trusted reputation for being a one-stop-shop for all our clients, offering small repairs to large scale projects. Experts in our field, we operate across all building maintenance trades, demonstrating the trust in the service we deliver.
Utilising PAYE staff and a small base of knowledgeable specialist sub-contractors, we have the capacity to undertake full end-to-end services for our clients including:
- Asbestos Removal
- Drainage Repairs
- All Insurance related perils to including: Escape of Water, Fire, Flood, Accidental Damage, Impact, Escape of Oil, Subsidence, Structural, Commercial Loss, Major and Complex loss, validation, Drying and Restoration.
- Void Works, Disrepair Work and Disabled Adaptations
- Planned Maintenance
- Small Works (Reactive)
- Residential works including: General Home Improvements, Loft Extensions, Home Extensions or just a lick of paint.
Apprenticeships
We apply our strong family values to our employees. Our Managing Director Gareth being a former apprentice joiner himself, he and Highbury are strong advocates for apprenticeships, offering hands-on courses across all construction-led disciplines. Highbury have a commitment to CITB (Construction Training Industry Board) and aim to recruit and support young apprentices every year to facilitate successful construction careers for the next generation.

Highbury Homes opens a second office in Cheshire following client demand.

The business completes 128 jobs out of our local area in Newcastle to support our valued clients following heavy flooding and is awarded with “going the extra mile” by a recognised client for a 98% customer satisfaction score.

Highbury’s customer-focused approach is key as the business completes 196 claims over this period, many in out-of-contract areas. This demonstrates Highbury’s flexibility and drive to go the extra mile for our customers when they need our services the most.

Highbury delivers its largest project to date – Elphaborough Close Sheltered Housing Estate.
Over 57 ground floor flats are devastated by the boxing day floods resulting in Highbury undertaking all works in-house to include, strip out, drying, ACM removal and project management of the full reinstatement works to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget and much to the satisfaction of the returning residents and our client.
